Beginner’s Guide

For your first lesson, you don’t need to have all the gear. Stretchy pants (like leggings) and a boot with a heel are really all you need. Just keep the weather (and the dirt!) in mind.

We have a variety of helmets available for the first lesson, but if you decide to continue, you’ll want to get your own.

Yes! Part of riding is learning to take care of your horse. You will likely need to arrive about 30 minutes prior to your lesson time to allow proper time for “tacking up.”

Nope! We have everything our horses need. Every horse has their own stuff that fits them and their needs, so you don’t need to bring anything.

We’ll show you how to get your horse ready to ride, talk about the basics, and just get used to the feeling of sitting on a moving horse. You will be paired with one of our most trustworthy horses and will always have a trainer with you. The first ride is all about the basics and seeing what life with horses is all about.

While most of our lessons are an hour, it takes a lot of muscle to ride that long! You will likely start with a half hour lesson and build your way up to the full hour.
